For those who read my previous post, it was my birthday yesterday and I have been celebrating over the weekend. Me and the Fiancée went away to Cardiff in Wales for the weekend and then popped over to Weston-Super-Mare to enjoy the sunset. Very romantico indeed (just minus the actual tropical sunshine)!
Other than a great weekend away I also received a few lovely pressies too. This included a baby pink Kitchen Aid Artisan mixer!! I had previously had this on my wishlist so I cant believe I officially own one. No more hand held whisking for me. I can safely say I was building up some enormous biceps from whisking egg whites alone.
My mum always buys the best presents and this year she bought my these two cookbooks which have got some delicious looking recipes inside. My favourite has to be the home-made sweets one. Looks like I'll be branching out from baking soon if I can get the hang of it.
And finally here was my rose inspired birthday cake.

Ah I have the Homemade Sweet Shop book too! My Mum got me it from a book fair and we've already tried the Turkish Delight and Bonfire Toffee recipes - delicious x
